Help stop Labor’s secrecy bill!
The Albanese Government’s FOI Amendment Bill 2025 will entrench secrecy — locking out journalists, Parliament, and the public from decisions made in our name.
Thanks in large part to our campaign, the Coalition, Greens and independents united to oppose the bill both in the House and in a Senate inquiry. But we know Labor intends to pass this Bill in 2026. It means the Government will be working behind closed doors to win the votes needed to pass it.
We need your help to ensure Senators hold the line in 2026.
This campaign is working — but we can’t afford to stop now.
Will you chip in today to fund the campaign to stop Labor's secrecy bill in the Senate?

Our campaign
Since the Freedom of Information Amendment Bill 2025 was announced in September 2025, Whistleblower Justice Fund has been working alongside leading anti-corruption, journalism, and human rights organisations to block this bill. Together we have made submissions and given evidence to the Senate inquiry investigating this bill, launched petitions, and travelled to Parliament House to brief Coalition, Greens, and independent MPs on the dangers of passing this bill. In October, WJF supporters helped fund an ad in The Australian (see below).
This campaign has been incredibly successful – but the real work starts now, as we ensure this bill doesn't pass the Senate in 2026.
